Java is an island of Indonesia.
Java is divided into four provinces, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Banten, and also two special regions, Jakarta and Yogyakarta.

The origins of the name "Java" are not clear.One possibility is that the island was named after the jáwa-wut plant. There are other possible sources: the word jaú and its variations mean "beyond" or "distant". Another source states that the "Java" word is derived from a Proto-Austronesian root word, meaning 'home'.

East Nusa Tenggara: The province consists over 550 islands, but it's dominated by three main islands namely Flores, Sumba and Timor. The arid landscape of eastern and southeastern Nusa Tenggara is the result of hot, dry winds blasting in from Australian continent. In fact, in many coastal areas not a drop of rain falls during the most of the year. Flores is a Pourtuguese name which means “flower”, and ideally described the beauty of this place.

These long islands between Sumbawa and Timor are crowded with volcanoes and mountains, dividing it into several regions with distinct languages and traditions.

Papua is a province of Indonesia.It comprises most of the western half of the island of New Guinea and nearby islands. 

Its capital is Jayapura. It is situated on hills which overlook the sea, and is accessible by boat and plane. It was here that General MacArthur assembled his fleet for the invasion of the Philippines during the Second World War.

Papua is a land of contrasts, with some of the most impenetrable jungles in the world and snowcapped mountain peaks towering over glacial lakes.

0349 Indonesia - West Nusa Tenggara

The Wallace Line, named after 19th century naturalist, Alfred Russell Wallace, marks a point of transition between the flora  and fauna of Western and Eastern Indonesia and acts as the western boundary of West Nusa Tenggara, which includes the island of Lombok and Sumbawa. The northern part of the island is mountainous and lush with tall trees and shrubs. The south, on the other hand is arid and covered by savannas. Large Asian mammals are absent and replaced instead by marsupials, lizards, cockatoos and parrots. The difference becomes more pronounced as one moves further east, where dry seasons are more prolonged and corn and sago are staple food, instead of rice.

Sumatra is an island in western Indonesia. Sumatra is a complete tourist destination-sunny beaches, rich flora and fauna, large rivers and great history. Sumatra has the richest wildlife in Indonesia and hence it is known as "Africa of Asia".

Medan is the capital of Sumatra and an ideal gateway for those wanting to explore this island. The architecture of the city shows strong Dutch influence.

Lake Toba: Situated at a height of around 1000 metres above the sea level, this picturesque lake is located at a distance of 175 km from Medan. The lake surrounds the densely populated island of Samsoir and its cool upside countryside is covered with tobacco, rubber, and palm oil plantations.;)

The Indonesian territory of Borneo, a massive island shared with Malaysia, is known as Kalimantan. 

Kalimantan is known of its exotic wildlife and flora. The world's largest flower, the Rafflesia is from here and Orangutans are only found here and in Sumatra. Kalimantan is probably best known as the home of the Dayak. The Dayak consist of various tribes with much diversity of art styles, customs and life-styles. Although now banned by government authority, the Dayak previously were skilled headhunters and are known for their massive longhouses and unique culture and traditions.

The island of Sulawesi is divided into the provinces of North Sulawesi, South Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi. Sulawesi has great topographical variety-spectacular mountains, scenic coastline, lakes, rice and dense jungles-and offer wonderful opportunities for travelers. 

Manado: It is the capital of North Sulawesi Province. Manado offers a variety of terrain with hills, volcanic mountains and scenic plateaus.  

Kendari: Capital of Southeast Sulawesi. It is the seat of government and tourist center of the province. It lies along the sloping hill and seaside of Kendari Bay.

The Maluku Islands or the Moluccas are an archipelago within Indonesia.

Most of the islands are mountainous, some with active volcanoes, and enjoy a wet climate. The vegetation of the small and narrow islands, encompassed by the sea, is very luxuriant; including rainforests, sago, rice and the famous spices—nutmeg, mace and cloves, among others.

Bali is known as the “last paradise on earth” and is the most popular tourist destination in the world.

The capital of Bali is Denpasar which is near the southern coast.

Vulcan Agung (3142 meters) to Bali is considered the most sacred place on the island. All temples of the island are turned into its party and all Baliniytsa try to sleep the head towards this volcano. 

Baliysky gate without top are called Chandi Bentar (Candi Bentar) that is translated as “the split gate”. Gate Chandi Bentar symbolize the space mountain of knowledge split into two parts — a half of good and an evil half — forces symbolizing fundamental to energy of the Universe.
